We live just a little over two hours from the Roloff Farms. This is the family from the TLC show "Little People, Big World." They own a pumpkin farm and are open only the month of October. I have watched the show quite a bit and I thought it would be a fun weekend getaway for our family. So last minute we decided to get a hotel and head out for the weekend. It isn't very often that we are able to do stuff like this, mostly due to time and money and I can honestly say this trip was well worth both of those!
We headed out right after Konner's soccer game and made it to our hotel in Vancouver Washington, just in time for dinner. We got situated and let the boys jump on the beds (something we only allow at hotels) and then headed out to dinner. We enjoyed yummy Mexican food at Who-Song and Larry's (a family favorite). After that, we went back to the hotel and let the boys swim. They had just gotten a football at the Nike outlet and were excited to break it in. Kamdynn on the other hand was not excited about the pool and cried the entire time she was in the water. She ended up sitting out with me, while the boys played.
The next day we started our day out right, at Starbucks and then headed to the Roloff Farms. As you can see by the line of cars, we were obviously not the only ones with this idea! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! We were able to do a tour of the farm and see some of the amazing things that Matt Roloff (the Dad) has created. Kevin of course now wants to move to a farm, so our kids can have the opportunity to run and play like the Roloff kids! That sounds great and all...BUT you kind of need A LOT of money to create a farm like this! We were able to either see or meet the entire Roloff family. The best part was when Konner met Amy Roloff (the Mom) and said "Hey, I've seen you on t.v.!" She was quick to say back "really?" (acting shocked). It was pretty cute!
It was our first trip as a family with Kamdynn and with the exception of swimming in the pool, she had a great time. She truly just loves to BE with us...so easy to please! We look forward to many more family adventures as a family of FIVE!
