Weekend Shopping with JUST the Boys!
We decided to take the boys school clothes shopping over the weekend. Yes, we could have shopped anywhere, but headed to Oregon for a few reasons...
1. We got a pass from a friend to the NIKE EMPLOYEE STORE!
2. It was only 2 hours away, but made it feel like a GETAWAY!
3. NO TAX!
My Mom had to back out last minute on being able to watch Kamdynn and we really wanted to make this just a trip for the boys (Kamdynn obviously doesn't need school clothes). My friend Jennifer's wonderful Mom (a.k.a. "Mimi") stepped up and offered to take her (along with another friend) which was a tremendous blessing. She was in good hands, and it sure made our trip more enjoyable not having a cute two year old in the mix!
We got to the Nike Employee Store around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and the line was not to be believed. Thankfully it went pretty quick. Inside we found some great deals and the boys were AWESOME...even while waiting in the checkout line for over 30 minutes (the line wrapped around the entire inside of the store). After our shopping spree there we enjoyed some lunch at Subway and headed to the Woodburn Outlets. The highlight there was definitely the North Face outlet!! Kaleb tried on a a "girls" North Face hoodie to check the size for a friend and he thought that was pretty funny! We ended the night eating Mexican, swimming in the pool and jumping on the beds in the hotel room.
The next morning we found a Denny's for breakfast. During breakfast I spotted Kaleb just staring into space. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "Just zoning out and thinking of Kamdynn." There was a Chinese family sitting across from us with 3 little girls and that reminded him of Kamdynn...so cute! After Denny's I continued some TAX FREE shopping and Kevin took the boys to see Spy Kids in 4D. What makes it 4D? Well, the answer to that is SMELL! They were all given a "scratch and sniff" piece of paper to use when certain numbers popped on the screen...they got a kick out of it!
After that we headed home, and with the exception of the horrible traffic that we hit, it was a great trip. It might just have to become an annual event!
